The 61-mile stretch of this four-lane highway features 15 bridges, including the Seco I, Seco II, Tizpa, and Cotaxtla bridges. It includes five interchanges. The Cordoba interchange notably features a partial cloverleaf with a post-tensioned beam structure with 55 underpasses over a one-mile stretch.
Its construction required the excavation of 102 million cubic feet of cutting, compaction of 182 millioncubic feet of embankments, and the installation of 550 drains.
It began operations in October 1992, and GMD operated it until 1998. The project generated 1,500 direct jobs and 1,900 indirect jobs. |
