GMD built and operated this toll road which started its operation in 1991. The construction of this project included 15 bridges in the Javier Barros Sierra System. Notable elements include Atenquique I and II, Barranca Pialla, and Barranca Beltran, in addition to 45 overpasses and five junctions.

With a total length of 91 miles, it comprises 49 miles with two lanes and 42 miles with four lanes. its construction required substantial excavation and embankment work, with a total of 357 million cubic feet of excavation and 424 million cubic feet of embankments (in addition to the installation of 450 drains).
